Despite its grid structure, the geometry is not only what lies behind this work (1), but a landscape idea, though of a landscape seen from a great height, and not at ground level. The work process has begun on a photographic image that has been altered by various methods, and finally translated into painting. The mixed technique used in the definitive work incorporates collage, clippings from old documents full of letters and numbers.
LIKE WINDOWS. Mixed media on canvas. 130×60 cm.
To make the picture LIKE WINDOWS (1) a similar procedure has been followed. Its title refers to small geometric shapes that occupy the center of the surface. However, it is clearly an abstract composition: the reason that has served as a starting point has been a sight from the sky, or rather a tiny fragment aerial view. The original photo has been computer altered changing colors and cutting it to transform it into an useful model as sketch for the final work (2, 3). The pictorial technique based on acrylic, collage and pastel touches.
